oh for the love of embroidery hoops..............

simply said.... i. love. embroidery hoops.

I saw a pouch on pinterest with this little sewing machine on it for the person's sewing notions as they travel and I just fell in love with the scrappy little machine.

So here is what I was inspired to make for my girlfriend's birthday

It's a small hoop just about 6 inches but the little machine is so stinking sweet. Now I'm itching to make myself one for my bare wall in my sewing room.

Happy Birthday A!

80's throw back

So, I really wish I could have styled little bit with a scrunchie or some leg warmers for this picture, however, this shirt is so awesome it really speaks for itself.

Yep - Wonder Woman....Jr. so cool

I found this goodie in a box of clothing my mom gave to me when I was pregnant. The box was mainly sweet little dress my mom made for me. This little shirt was snuck in and gave me the biggest kick this weekend when I found it again. Yes, it's a little short but we're just hanging around the house today and it is cracking us up. I have even found E lifting it up to look at the characters on it.

Check out the back!

It's no invisible boat or plane but her giraffe will do.

p.s. - don't forget I'm going through my stash all week and adding fabric to the shop.

Thrfting and Destashing!

I'm still here.

We threw Elise an epic Under the Sea 1st birthday party and it's been chaos ever since. Hopefully I'll have pictures posted shortly. I found some super clever ideas on pinterest and it made the party unbelievably easy yet, looked like we did a lot!In the meantime, go check out my board of ideas......seriously best birthday theme! I'm already thinking Little Red Riding Hood for next Year. We'll see:)

In the mean time I've been adding a lot of new inventory to my Etsy Shop, along with some destashing

I'm still in the process of taking photos and pulling out goodies from my stash so check back again in a few days in you don't see anything. And if you are a local quilter let me know and we can skip shipping.

I have a little bit of everything - vintage fabric, vintage bed sheets in yardage and precut charms and some modern stuff.

If you already don't follow me on Etsy, hit that button so you can track what I'll be listing later this week!

p.s. I'm on the hunt for little red riding hood fabric. I'm always happy to swap if you have some in your stash that I don't already have. I'm looking for anything as small as a 10 inch square to 1/2 yard.

Birthday Dress

I wish I could say I took the time to write you a tutorial for this dress. It all starts with a onesie and once you have your groove down and your girl's measurements, you can pump these out within 30 minutes.

The belt is made out of this gorgeous stretch velvet I found on etsy, and I have a sweet little matching yo-yo head band for Elise to wear too. I'm thinking bout doing an Easter dress this style for her too.

Whale Softie

So every little seahorse needs a friend right?!?!?!
What better than a whale to swim along with! Ok, yes another birthday gift:).

This one whipped out super fast and was so much fun. I love how his tail curves back to his body.

I showed Brian a few examples of what I wanted and he was able to draw it out for me...with a few little tweaks.  I'm hoping to have a pattern for him up soon. Great for beginner softie makers.

and done!

Here is the finished seahorse! I showed you him unstuffed and he fully came to life once he was stuffed!

I have the pattern up in my etsy shop for resale.....i.e. cheap.......if anyone is interested. There are so many variations you could do for this sweet little guy.
